What if political campaigns were run only via text chat? Only the statements would be judged, not the appearance. What an unfortunate situation we have where every candidate is examined for most of the characteristics that would have little effect on how they might serve the country. Pant suits, stiffness, weight, hair, looks, none of this touches how one might make the country better. Lincoln was one of our most revered presidents, but he was also bug ugly and wouldn’t have a chance under today’s spotlights. If only we could judge people by their program and details of how they see it might be realized. Instead, the press is in the business of classifying people as too old, too young, too female, not female enough. They and the echo chamber find fault with everyone regardless of their worth as lawmakers, leaders and citizens.
