I’m Randulo. I’ve told the story of Spotify’s desperate antics. Here’s a short recap. In the final paragraphs is a detailed description of what you can do to improve your discovery and status on Spotify.

Spotify: starting in 2024, tracks that do not get 1,000 streams will receive no remuneration.

Me: That’s a significiant loss for me!

Spotify and others: Why, a track that got 500 streams, is what, $1.50?

Me: Yes, $1.5 average per track. But I have 135 tracks that stream between 300 and 800 times a year. That could be up to $200 a year difference. Even an average of 100 lousy streams would still mean about $40!

I took down those 135 tracks. Why leave my product when it’s unpaid?

Do not pay for “organic” promotion. Spotify will eventually catch the bots and fine you and not pay for those phony streams. If you pay for a promo campaign, it can only be with ads or curated playlists with decent followings. Most promo promises are using these bot-powered plays that will…
