Music gigs dried up in L.A. in the 1980s. In Paris, it got somewhat grim around 2000.
But I don't look to the past, but to the future.
Soon, I may be breaking even soon (aside from the price of quality instruments). Meanwhile, I'm lucky to have had a business run for over 20 years. I worked hard then and I'm working hard now, because I don't believe in phoning it in. That chart ends years ago, but it's no surprise streaming has ramped up. I just think Spotify will be in trouble, not the entire streaming paradigm. There will be many things coming down the path in the next few years, so we can't know anything else of significance.
