An Alternative to the Empty Suits of Big Media

One need not take sides with an interviewer or guest on the podcast, or on Harris’ monologues. Like Joe Rogan, there is an audience that yearns to become aware of views and ideas that are not curated by corporations and/or advertisers. I do not imagine a devoted (i.e. repeat) audience of Sam Harris as the same as those of Fox News or MSNBC or the various networks, including the BBC, RT or Al Jazeera, ready to swallow whatever is being purveyed as truth. Everyone has opinions. It’s our job as intelligent content consumers to take in the ideas, and yes, even the prejudices of others, sorting them, pitting them against our own and trying to Make Sense of the world. (See what I did there?)

I read somewhere that Brian Williams is considered one of the most trusted news presenters on the air. I don’t agree with everything Sam Harris or Joe Rogan thinks, but they both present a far more intellectually engaging discourse than an empty suit reading the news.

Addendum: After a search to find where I’d heard that about Brian Williams, the first result was this poll. It completely devalues what I said in the above paragraph. I am not familiar with Lester Holt, but I’m aware of Anderson Cooper and have zero confidence in his work bringing the “one or many truths” to my screen.
